Hi everyone
I just wanted to update you all on a few things that have been happening in the past few weeks behind the scenes!
1- Welcome to the new players
Our little group is growing we are up to 31 people in the WhatsApp community and a few outside of it! and I just wanted to say thank you to all for taking part of these events in one way or another. Those that recently have joined since February, I really hoped you enjoy the games days I put on. I am trying to strike the balance of regular heathy competitive play in a friendly community that puts the health and wellbeing of the player as a priority in a 1 day event.
Good healthy competitive play- so we all improve as players, we all get to play new players and learn from different experiences.
A Friendly community- hopefully means you all will play each other outside the games day or we all go as a group or in groups to places like Warhammer fest, Warhammer world other events as teams.
Organisation- Warhammer days can be long I’m hoping that putting on a well timed and organised day will speed that process up so you all can have fun and enjoy the day and not waste time waiting around long stretches or going home at some silly hour feeling like a broken shell of your self after playing all day.
Player care- Making sure that you the player is looked after by providing proper refreshment across the day & decent meal in the day, alongside as best as I can rulings for any player questions.
These were the core foundations of what me and Terry discussed when we drove up to Manchester for Warhammer fest 2023. I don’t think either of us truly thought it would become what it has and I am a bit blown away by everyone’s positive feedback. It is motivating me to try and do better with each event so welcome all and thank you.
2- Gallery Update
I have posted a new Gallery of the previous Games day go check it out! I have had more time to learn how to use it better so it looks much better than the others! I will go back and fix those I promise. Anyway click here
3- BCP UPDATE
BCP has done an update to the main app. You may need to update your app and re sign in and reconnect to the goon hammer tabletop battle app.
4- BCP TO APP GOING!
BCP is getting rid of there tournament organiser app so that will make my life a little slower on games days with regards to round pairings but hopefully not by much. I will be making scoring sheets for you all to fill in along side the table top battle app in case we have tech issues on the day. And I can work my way through those scores in the 15 min break between rounds.
5- We are getting a round timer clock!
This is to help keep the day on track and so games start and finish on time. I don’t want to go to the extreme with chess clocks this is not what the day is about, but at the same time I don’t want players waiting on other games to complete games before next round pairings can be made. Going forward when the timer runs out dice go down and you count scores!. You will be given a 30 min warning.
6- Scenery oh Scenery why cause such a headache Scenery!?
This has always been a bit of an issue with these events. We have some beautiful tables and I try to lay them out evenly as possible but it doesn’t help having such a variety of types and sizes of terrain pieces on each table. This has lead to debates on all sorts of subjects so in an attempt to eliminate this going forward I have backed on kickstarter 7 sets of the new Snot goblin gaming terrain along side 10 sets of Terrain templates and objective markers. This probably will not arrive for April game day but should do for June (don’t expect it to be painted haha).So for April we will use again as best as possible the collection the players have. It still will be fun, you all just have to understand the terrain on the table is what we have as a very new gaming group and you will have to work as best as possible with the variety for hopefully 1 more event. If we have any rules problems on the day come see me I will make a decision that will last the whole day.

7- The League
If you have not read about it on here or heard me speak about it on previous games days. Here is a quick run down
It only cost £10 to enter for the entire season all the money goes towards development of future events and a small trophy for the winner.
Once entered I will track your performance across the events we do in this year.
Your performances will then be ranked in a table against all other entrants.
At the end of the Octobers event the person with the best 4 scores will be crowned the champion of 2024
This league primary function is to further develop the event days by putting the money towards quality of life improvements, terrain, mats and anything else that will make our days more enjoyable. I will mention this in the April event you only need to come tell me you like to take part.
