Change is Coming!!

A look back before we go forward!

As i prepared to type this blog i had a quick look back at the very first event i organised for my friends and the start of D6 games as an event organiser. I can say i am proud of the progress we made since that first event. If you don’t remember we started with a 1000 point individual RTT with 3 rounds in 1 day, i had planned food and the whole group brought scenery ( we would later find out we didn’t have enough scenery for a fair and balanced game ha) The idea was to have everyone come together have a day of fun & fair games, good healthy food and a social get together. These three elements have been the core philosophy of our events ever since.

With every event completed i have learned more and more about the hobby and how to best organise these days so they are fun for everyone. And while event numbers have very slowly crept up the D6 community as a whole has exploded and every new member has brought their gaming experience and helped in some way improve the days we run!

So i would like to thank you all for that!.

You said Change is Coming! What does that mean to me?

Overall I’m hoping all of these changes are positive for everyone, and i will be doing a few blogs posts that will cover all these changes in larger detail. Todays post will be a bit of a overview.

The reason for these changes are many! some will make my life easier as an organiser, some will help maintain that everyone in our current group can continue to play the days they enjoy , some changes will provide new experiences in gaming, and some we will bring new players to future D6 games events!

While its not planet bowling ball there not exactly much room to hide haha!

What’s app Group and Event registration

The first change i will be bringing into effect will be locking down the WhatsApp group and restricting who joins the group going forward. The group has got large, far larger than I originally imagined and with that come with pros and cons. But its reason to be locked down is not because of its size but to ensure that the current group and members are able to enter the events with priority!

Everyone in the WhatsApp group will be given a choice for there preference of events in 2025 either narrative or competitive, this data will be collected and 2 list lists will be drawn up.

When an event is created it will be done so 12 weeks out from the actual date of the event. immediately after that, the list of players who interest best lie in that event will be informed of its creation and they will have 4 weeks to regester on BCP and pay for there slot.

After 4 weeks the event will be opened up to everyone in the what’s app group and other social channels they will have 4 weeks to fill any spaces left in the event if they wish to do so.

With 4 weeks to go the event will come off private mode on BCP and be viewable to all of the Warhammer world to see. If there are any spaces left that’s when they can join.

Other Social Channels

Naturally i will be looking to grow D6 games across 2025 to what end i have no decided yet. but either way i will have to focus on the social media presence as any one should. I ask that you join the facebook group, discord and the D6 instagram page and encourage others to do so! Links at the top in the little icons.

I will be reducing the number of chats in the what’s app down to 2 and organising the discord server to better fit the purpose of a larger group.

A photo from the most recent event!

A vast difference in table coverage with plenty of Line of site blocking terrain!

That’s everything for this blog next one will be discussing the changes with locations of our events!
