The League & 2025 Season Pass
The Origins of the League
Early on into the life of the D6 games series there was a very interesting debate about the terrain we had on the tables. We came to the conclusion that there wasn’t enough and needed more! The league was designed to help raise some money to pay for the large amounts of the terrain needed to fill the tables to the standard of the Games Workshop competition pack, while bring some addition competition across the year for the players. I don’t think i did a great job explaining what the league was and how it worked and why it cost and extra fee on top of the event event entry, and as a result no one really took it up. I decided to run the leagues still with the hope that a season of play might bring more understanding of how it works. So far it has been an interest for many players and has created a few discussions about where people could finish! So i did something right!
The League in 2025
The League in 2025 will still run but we will have a more extensive list of events to enter into that will qualify points to your ranking. We will use the system as we having done this year using your finishing position in an event to earn you placing points we will also track your Wins and your Victory points from your games. We will rank you firstly by Placing Points then separate tie brakes with Number of Wins and then further separate tie breaks by Victory Points.
To prevent the unlikely scenario of someone entering every event in the season and becoming the League champion through volume, we will be using the best 4 scores from any of the individual events you enter. So if you do enter all 6 of the scheduled 2000 point single player events we will use your best 4 scores for your points rankings. Just for some context this season we have only had people manage to enter 3 events.
Doubles events will also earn you points but these are capped at 5 placing points per event and there will be 4 events in the year, 1 at each of the new locations.
Special invitational events such as Clash of County events or The Champion of Champions will not gain you points.
Narative events do not count towards the league but will have its own system of tracking.
To summarise
Your finishing position in events will earn you Placing Points and you will be ranked based on those along side your wins and victory points.
You can enter every individual player event but only your best 4 scores count towards your ranking.
Doubles events will earn you 5 Placing Points per event.
Special invitational events do not earn Placing Points.
Narative events do not count towards the league
The Season Pass 2025
This year we are going to have a season pass! This is a one off cost of £30 for the year. It has several functions, first and most importantly it gains you entry into the league. If you are not in the league in 2025 you cannot Qualify for the champion of champion event or any 2026 county clash events ( i hope will add another team next year). For Narative players the season pass will track your performances across the Narative campaign this year and small prizes will be awarded at the end of the campaign (more on that when i announce the campaign fully).
Alongside that the season pass will get you £5 off each Open Event or Narative you enter in 2025. Enter enough events and you have got your money back!
Where is the season pass money going?
I have tried to be as transparent as possible with regards to the running and costs of these events. I want them to be good and i need your patience/understanding on where we are at & where we are going with these events. The 7 sets of Snot Goblin Gaming Terrain which has received very positive feed back from players wasn’t cheap but it has been huge step forward for the D6 games event system. To make the events fully self sufficient financially and physically (so no has to help bring anything, which has always been the goal since the original discussion back at the start of these events) we need 5 more sets of terrain. These sets will be painted this time and allot of you have seen what those looks like and how robust those paint jobs are. All the money raised from the season pass will go towards the additional sets of terrain.
The Season Pass will be Purchasable from November 1st to give all players a chance to enter before the very first Qualifying event of 2025.
